Who is not a candidate for paramedical and cosmetic tattooing?

Clients who are pregnant, nursing, undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or have uncontrolled medical conditions such as diabetes or skin disorders in the treatment area are not candidates. Individuals taking blood thinners or Accutane must wait the appropriate time before scheduling a procedure.

Is numbing available?

Yes. A topical numbing agent can be used to minimize discomfort during the procedure if any pain occurs.

How are colors selected?

Each pigment is custom-blended to complement your individual skin tone, undertone, and the specific area being treated. Color selection is discussed in detail during your consultation to ensure the most natural result possible.

How long do results last?

Results typically last several years but may gradually fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and overall health can affect pigment longevity. Periodic maintenance or color refresh appointments may be recommended.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes. All procedures are performed using sterile, single-use needles and supplies in accordance with Florida Department of Health standards. The highest level of sanitation and professionalism is maintained at all times.

Will the results look different after healing?

Yes. The color will appear darker immediately after the procedure and will gradually soften as the skin heals. Mild redness or sensitivity is normal and typically subsides within a few days.

Paramedical Tattooing:

What is paramedical tattooing?

Paramedical tattooing is an advanced cosmetic tattoo procedure designed to camouflage scars, stretch marks, and areas of pigment loss. At Beauty Envy in Fort Lauderdale, we specialize in treating surgical scars (including tummy-tuck, C-section, breast augmentation, and facelift scars), injury and burn scars, stretch marks, and white spots from sun exposure. Each treatment is customized to match your natural skin tone and texture for seamless, realistic results that restore confidence and balance.

How many sessions are needed for scar or stretch-mark camouflage?

Most clients need 3 to 5 sessions, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, depending on the size, depth, and age of the scar or stretch mark. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and create a personalized treatment plan.

How many sessions are needed for 3D areolas and 3D belly buttons?

Most clients achieve their desired results in a single session. However, in some cases, a touch-up session may be recommended 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure to refine color or detail if necessary. If a touch-up is required, it is included in the initial price, provided it is completed within the 6-8 week time frame. Each client’s skin and healing process are unique, and results may vary.

Does the procedure hurt?

Most clients describe the procedure as very tolerable with little to no discomfort. However, if you experience any sensitivity, a professional topical numbing cream can be applied to keep you comfortable throughout your session. Our goal is always to ensure you feel relaxed and at ease during your treatment.

Can you work on all types of scars?

We can work on most fully healed scars, typically 9–12 months old, flat in texture, and without redness or keloid formation. For clients with a history of keloid scars, a patch test is required first to ensure your skin responds safely.

How long do results last?

Results typically last 3–5 years or longer. Longevity depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and aftercare. Touch-ups can be scheduled when fading begins.

Powder Brows:

What are powder brows?

Powder brows (also known as ombré brows) are a form of permanent makeup that gives a soft, filled-in look similar to brow powder or makeup. The technique uses thousands of tiny pixels to create a natural, shaded finish that suits all skin types, especially mature or oily skin.

How long do powder brows last?

Results typically last 2–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. A touch-up may be recommended after 12–18 months to maintain color and shape.

What is the difference between powder brows and microblading?

Microblading uses small strokes to mimic hair, while powder brows create a more defined, soft-shaded effect. Powder brows are less invasive, cause less trauma to the skin, and fade more evenly over time, making them ideal for most clients.

Before Your Appointment:

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Clients are required to follow all pre-appointment guidelines to ensure the best possible results. Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin on the area to be treated. Avoid self-tanning products, heavy sun exposure, chemical peels, or laser treatments on or near the area for at least two weeks prior to your appointment.

Are there any restrictions before the procedure?

Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen 24 hours before your procedure unless prescribed by your physician. Please wear or bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to allow easy access to the treatment area.

Why is preparation important?

Proper preparation ensures optimal pigment retention, minimal sensitivity, and an overall smoother healing process.

Day of Your Appointment:

What should I expect when I arrive?

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Upon arrival, your treatment area will be reviewed, and pre-procedure photos will be taken. We will confirm the service details, discuss the treatment plan briefly, and ensure you are comfortable before beginning.

Can I wear makeup or lotion on the area?

Please avoid wearing makeup, lotions, oils, or any products on or near the treatment area. The skin must be clean and free of residue to ensure proper pigment implantation and accurate color assessment.

Will photos or videos be taken?

Yes. Photography and/or video documentation are required before, during, and after your procedure for insurance, treatment, and marketing purposes. You may choose whether your full face or only close-up images of the treated area are shown.

How long will my appointment take?

Appointment length varies depending on the service. Most procedures take between 1–3 hours, including setup, numbing, and tattooing.

Aftercare & Healing:

What is the healing process like?

Mild redness or sensitivity may occur for a few days. As your skin heals, the pigment softens and blends naturally. Full healing takes about 4–6 weeks, and final results continue to improve as the skin regenerates.

How should I care for the area after my appointment?

You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions. In general, keep the area clean and dry, avoid direct sun exposure, heavy sweating, and swimming for at least 7–10 days. Proper aftercare is key to achieving long-lasting, even results.

When can I resume normal activities?

Most clients return to work and normal routines immediately, but it’s best to avoid workouts or activities that cause heavy sweating for about a week.
